About
Dr. Aly Youssef is a distinguished obstetrician and prenatal medicine specialist based in Bologna, Italy, working with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Sant’Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital. He earned his MD from Alexandria University, Egypt in 2001.
After residency, he trained in prenatal medicine and obstetric ultrasound at the University of Bologna between about 2008–2013. Since 2015, he has served as Consultant in the prenatal unit at Bologna.
His expertise encompasses intrapartum and pelvic-floor ultrasound, 3D ultrasound, fetal diagnosis, and imaging during pregnancy. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Youssef has been very active in medical education: he holds editorial roles (such as Social Media Editor of UOG), contributes to ISUOG education initiatives (CME task force, Ambassador roles), and lectures internationally. He is multilingual, speaking English, Italian, Arabic, French.
