About
Prof. Dr. Simone Ferrero is a highly accomplished gynecologist and academic based in Genoa, Italy. He earned his medical degree from the University of Genova in 1999 and completed his specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology there by 2004. To further refine his surgical expertise, he obtained the European University Diploma of Gynaecological Operative Endoscopy (Université d’Auvergne, France) in 2006, and the Diplôme D’Université de Chirurgie Laparoscopique (Université de Strasbourg, France) in 2007. In 2009, he achieved a PhD from Queen Mary University of London, where his work focused on proteomic and cellular studies of peritoneal fluid in women with endometriosis.
He has published >250 peer-reviewed articles (often quoted as “over 250”) and authored several books and book chapters, especially in topics such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, gynecologic oncology, and minimally invasive gynecological surgery.His main clinical/research interests include the diagnosis and treatment (both hormonal and surgical) of endometriosis (including deep endometriosis), management of uterine myomas (fibroids), advancements in gynecological ultrasonography, and treatment strategies in gynecologic cancers.
In addition to clinical practice and research, Prof. Ferrero is active in the academic community — giving many presentations at national and international meetings, editing journals, and serving in leadership roles in societies related to fibroids and endometriosis. His experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques and imaging adds depth to his contributions in patient care and innovation.
