About
Professor Alaa Ebrashy is the director of the fetal medicine unit and a professor of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Kasr Al Aini Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.
He received his degree from Kasr Al Aini Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in 1986, and completed his residency training at the same hospital in 1989. He received his master’s degree in 1993 and his M.D. in 1996, both in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. In 2006, he became the Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, he also completed specialized training in the Ob-Gyn Department at Birmingham Women’s Hospital UK and at Ulm University in Germany.
Prof. Alaa Ebrashy has led a number of training workshops covering a range of topics, such as International 3D VISUS, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, basic and advanced ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, and more.
Prof Alaa Ebrashy serves as the board member of the Fetus as a Patient Society and the WAPM Educational Committee in developing nations. In addition to this, he also serves as an editor for the Kasr El Aini Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, KAJOG, and a reviewer for the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Middle East Fertility Sterility Journal, and Reproductive Biology. Furthermore, he is a member of the MEDUOG Executive Committee.
